Bio:
Kayla is interested in the intersection of science and motherhood, in both developmental biochemistry and the diversity of scientific investigators. She is interested in the maternal influence on zygotic development and serves on the BMB IDEA committee with the goal of leaving the lab, department, and university more inclusive to mothers than she found it. You can often find her accompanied in lab by her 13-year-old daughter and assistant, Norah, who nearly has enough hours logged for a science degree of her own.
