Come join us for an inspiring journey at the “Art in Science” summer workshop. Whether we’re making figures for our scientific papers or presenting our posters at a conference, art helps us to communicate science. So let’s work together to practice this important skill!

Anyone affiliated with Colorado State University can participate: undergraduate students, visiting scientists, graduate students, postdocs, admin professionals, and even faculty! Even NSF-REU students are welcome! This opportunity is ideal for rising second-year graduate students making their first posters for the BMB retreat or anyone making figures. Please consult your PI before registering.

Requirements:
The best part of a workshop is to be able to do some hands-on work! Please bring a laptop. The Scientific Poster session by Dr Shing Ho will be primarily done on Microsoft Powerpoint. For the Adobe Illustrator session, you will need a 7-day trial subscription or a paid subscription. Adobe Illustrator can be purchased through Ramtech (ramtech_store@Mail.Colostate.edu). https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/compare-plans.html has all the information you will need. For Biorender, this website has all the information about their free and premium versions https://www.biorender.com/pricing. You will only need an email id for the free version. The premium or paid versions also have a 14-day free trial period but will need a credit card information for making an account. There are student discounts available.
